Ordering & Shipping

How can I place an order?

For all online orders, we accept American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover & Paypal. To place an order by phone, you can call our Toll Free # 1-888-477-5487. If you would like to pay by check or money order, you can mail your order to Unique Pretzel Bakery Inc, Attention: Customer Service, 215 E Bellevue Ave, Reading, PA, 19605.

Do you add any extra handling charges?

There are no additional charges if an order ships to any street address in the continental United States.

If an order will need to be shipped to a PO Box or Military location, there is an additional charge of $10.00 and the order must be placed by contacting Customer Service at 1-888-477-5487.

It is the customers responsibility to ensure their shipping address can receive packages from USPS, UPS, OR FEDEX. We use various carriers based on the product and destination zip code.  The customer cannot specify which carrier will be used at checkout  All carriers require  safe location for delivery.  We are not liable for packages that are stolen after delivery has occurred or for packages that cannot be delivered due to an address being undeliverable by a specific carrierWe do not offer reimbursements for such incidents. If you are not able to receive USPS deliveries to a physical street address, please contact Customer Service at 1-888-477-5487 to place your order.

We are not responsible for failed deliveries when:

            An incorrect address is provided

            The recipient is out of town or not available

Shipments that are returned or require rerouting due to an incorrect address will be subject to additional charges for reshipment and/or relabeling for the carrier.

Can you ship orders outside of the United States?

Yes, additional postage is required and there are size/quantity limitations.  All orders must be placed by contacting Customer Service at 1-888-477-5487.  The office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 A.M.-5:00 P.M. EST.

$30.00 additional fee – orders shipped to Alaska – Hawaii – Puerto Rico – US Virgin Islands

$60.00 additional fee – orders shipped Internationally (unable to ship to Spain)

Can I order chocolate all year long?

Unfortunately, No.  Due to chocolate being sensitive to warm climates, we’ve made the difficult decision to not ship gift items containing chocolate from late spring through summer.  Anytime that chocolate is subject to 74 degrees Fahrenheit or above, that causes it to melt.  So while it may be in climate controlled environment at our facility; once it leaves, it would then be subject to extreme climates sitting in hot delivery trucks/trailers, warehouses and possibly outside exposed to heat/sun at the delivery location.

Unique Snacks is not responsible for melting or other damage caused by heat exposure during shipping or packages left outside unattended.

Can I ship to Military Service locations?

Yes, we strongly support our troops and will deliver to APO/FPO and all military base locations via U.S. Postal Priority Mail. There is an additional charge of $10.00 for postage and all military orders must be placed by contacting Customer Service at 1-888-477-5487. The office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. EST.

Will I receive an online order confirmation?

You will receive an order confirmation with your order #, order total and order details after placing your online order. Please review this information as soon as possible to ensure all addresses and items are correct. If you need to make any changes to your order, contact Customer Service as soon as possible between 8:30 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. EST at 1-888-477-5487 or send an online inquiry – Contact Us Page

Can I change something on my order after it has been placed?

Yes, as long as your order has not been filled, packed, and/or shipped. Please contact customer service to revise your order as soon as possible between 8:30 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. EST. at 1-888-477-5487 or complete an online inquiry – Contact Us Page 

How can I track my order?

We process and ship your order as soon as possible. Once your order ships, you will receive an e-mail containing your tracking information and a link. By clicking on the link, you will be able to track your order.  Please make sure to check your spam/junk email folder if you have not received your tracking information.

Orders typically ship within 1-2 days with exception to weekends, holidays and during promotional periods to allow for additional time for our Fulfillment Team to process the orders for shipping.

If you would like to ship your order on a future date, please place your order by contacting Customer Service at 1-888-477-5487.  The online orders are not able to be held to ship at a later date.

What is a pretzel “Split”?

A “Split” is a one of a kind pretzel experience. Our unique and all natural slow-baking process makes our pretzels free of Cholesterol and Trans Fats while magically infusing them with an outstandingly crunchy & flavorful texture made up of split-open grooves and hollow pockets that set them apart from any other pretzel snack.

What are pretzel Shells?

Shells are the amazingly lite and addictive variation of the Unique Pretzel. Take the mouthwatering flavor and texture of a “Split” pretzel down to a single bite size and then fill it with the air of satisfaction. What you get is a delightful pretzel pillow that packs a powerful crunch leaving your mouth in a state of ravenous bliss.

What makes our Sprouted products different?

Our Sprouted products are made with an organic whole wheat flour that digests like a vegetable. The wheat is “Sprouted” or germinated, which causes it to be converted into a living food with more vital nutrients that are easily absorbed in the body. Our organic whole grain flour tastes wonderful as it has not been bleached, refined or overly processed. We also use organic extra virgin olive oil.

Are your products Kosher?

Yes, our products are Kosher with the exception of the chocolate products and the mustard dips that are made in a different facility.

My chocolate coated pretzels have a white coating (or film) on it? Are they bad or expired?

Well that doesn’t look pleasant, now does it?  White coating (or film) on chocolate has nothing to do with the age of chocolate.  It’s what’s referred to as “chocolate bloom.”

It’s what happens when it gets too warm or if water condenses on the chocolate.

Chocolate bloom is either of two types of whitish coating that can appear on the surface of chocolate.  Fat bloom occurs when the chocolate softens so much that the cocoa butter crystals melt and molecules of fat migrate to the surface where they form new crystals. Sugar bloom happens when water condenses on the chocolate and dissolves some of its sugar.  When that water evaporates, a fine layer of sugar crystals are left behind.

Here’s the good news: bloomed chocolate isn’t ruined and is perfectly consumable and you will taste no different than perfectly shiny chocolate.  It may not be as pretty, but that’s the only drawback to it.

This is the primary reason why we caution about sending chocolate on our website, during the warmer months.  Unfortunately, we cannot control the environment that they’re subject to once they leave our facility (because chances are they will spend some time on a warm truck or trailer).

How can I get a free catalog?

Unfortunately we no longer have printed versions of our catalog available.  While we loved having them, it became too challenging to continue with costs, they weren’t instantly updateable when gift items changed, and we found that they only showed a limited view of what we had available.

The best way to find our product offerings is viewing the SHOP portion of our website for our full array of snacks and gift items available.

 

Can I freeze the pretzels?

Yes, you can. Customers maintain that they keep their freshness.

Do you send samples or coupons?

Although we cannot ship samples to you, our company-owned Unique Pretzel Store in Reading, PA and some Grocery Store locations frequently offer samples of our products. Check out our Visit Us page for more information about our store.

Why do your unsalted pretzels have sodium content listed on the ‘Nutrition Facts’ panel?

That sure seems ironic, doesn’t it? Well, the reason Unsalted pretzels have sodium content (not an ingredient) is because the pretzels are run through a sodium hydroxide and water solution to give them their brown coloring.

Do you use GMO or Bioengineered ingredients in your products?

Our focus on maintaining the highest standards of quality has allowed us to be successful for nearly a century. We have continued our process of quality slow-baking and use of only simple ingredients. We’re extremely proud that our entire product line is Cholesterol FREE and Lactose FREE. All of our pretzels are non-GMO Certified!

Do you have any Organic or Vegan products?

Our Sprouted pretzel product line is Organic certified, non-GMO certified, Vegan, Sugar FREE and is a good source of fiber too.

Is it bad if I eat pretzels past their expiration date?

All our products have a “Best If Used By” date on the bag. Which means that’s the date we recommend eating them by, to enjoy their full freshness. If you happened to eat pretzels that are past that date, other than them possibly being stale, they won’t harm you.

Allergy Information

Do any of your products contain dairy products?

ALL of our dark & milk chocolate and vanilla products may contain dairy or milk products. Any person with a dairy allergy should NOT consume ANY of our chocolate products.

Do your products contain nuts?

ALL of our “Crunchies” products contain nuts and/or peanuts. Any person with a nut allergy should NOT consume ANY of our “Crunchies” products. Additionally, Chocolate products are made in a facility that also processes peanuts, tree nuts, and soy.

Do your pretzels contain gluten or other allergens?

Our pretzels contain gluten. Any person with a gluten allergy should NOT consume ANY of our pretzels. Our Puffzels are gluten free.

Are your products made in a facility with other allergens?

While our Chocolate products are made in a facility that also processes peanuts, tree nuts, and soy these items come to us pre-packaged to avoid any cross-contamination with other products.

How “big” is your company?

We’re a family-owned business with a lean crew of team members, but we are growing. Although our business started in eastern Pennsylvania, our distribution is rapidly expanding throughout the country.

How do I request a donation from Unique Pretzel Bakery?

Supporting our Community is very important to us. In order for us to manage the large volume of requests that Unique Pretzel Bakery, Inc. receives for donations and promotions, we ask that you go to our Donations page, read over our requirements and complete the Request Form.

Do you give plant tours?

As much as we’d like to show you around our production facility, we are unable to provide tours to the general public.
